Current educational research validates that the single most important factor in the success of any individual child is absolutely the quality of the teacher. Therefore, the education of teachers (and all who hope to impact student performance) is the most important quality-assurance piece of the puzzle for those in education. This means only one thing -- the professional development experiences of every educator, every time must be of superior quality. Professional development is at the heart of teacher retention, quality work-force, individual and “team” pride -- and very definitely at the heart of ensuring continued growth in student achievement. That is where the WPGL link and contribution comes into the picture -- by providing educational consulting with heart!

Quality professional development is an essential element for bringing about significant improvements in our schools. Changes that make qualitative and quantitative differences to curriculum, instruction, assessment, improvement and leadership practices can only come about when the folks delivering the goods -- teachers, principals, superintendents -- have the knowledge, skills and strategies in hand and in mind to deliver continuous, ambitious instructional improvement to yield improved student learning outcomes. Piecing together such an optimal, quality core of talented educational practitioners with a focus on high-quality professional development is no longer a daunting goal.

At WPGL, our objective is to proactively provide professional development leadership to states, districts and other educational agencies as they implement initiatives and innovations that support increased student achievement for all groups of learners. Our track record shows that we will significantly improve school experiences and student performance by providing products and services that:

• Demonstrate, model and promote state-of-the-art professional development for educational initiatives.
• Promote collaboration and networking among groups seeking to meet the needs of students in specified areas.
• Facilitate the formation of learning networks for professional growth opportunities and resources for improving schools.
• Promote significant and ongoing study and conversations about the quality of professional development in schools to improve the learning opportunities and learning success of all students and staff.

• Coaching for Novice (and experienced) Professional Developers.
